Hastrid Salmon is an immigration attorney with a diverse background in both criminal law and immigration law. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Florida International University, followed by her Juris Doctor in 2019 from Florida International University College of Law.
During law school, Ms. Salmon was actively involved in student leadership and advocacy. She served as Internal Vice President of the Women’s Law Society from 2018 to 2019 and as Mentorship Director from 2017 to 2018. She was also a member of the Criminal Law Society and the H.T. Smith Black Law Students Association. She completed trial advocacy courses where she further developed her litigation and courtroom skills. Additionally, Ms. Salmon helped in the death penalty clinic, where she assisted in researching cases involving death row inmates.
Ms. Salmon began her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney with the Broward State Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted criminal cases on behalf of Broward County. In 2021, she transitioned into immigration law, where she developed a strong foundation in removal defense, including bond proceedings, while also handling family-based immigration matters.
She now focuses primarily on family immigration, representing clients in petitions, adjustment of status, consular process, waivers, U visas, and naturalization applications. Ms. Salmon also has experience in employment-based immigration, including EB-1A, EB-2 National Interest Waivers (NIW), E-2 investor visas, and L-1A intracompany transferee visas.
As the daughter of Honduran immigrants, Ms. Salmon brings a personal understanding and deep commitment to serving immigrant communities. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Ms. Salmon is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
